Fair Play: How We Keep Spylled Honest

When real prizes are on the line, cheating is a real concern. Here's how we keep Spylled fair for everyone.

Server-side timing

Your quiz timer runs on our server, not in your browser. Refreshing the page, closing the tab, or manipulating JavaScript won't reset your clock. The timer starts when you click Start and we record that timestamp server-side. When you submit, we calculate elapsed time from that stored timestamp.

One attempt per day

Each player gets exactly one attempt per day. Once you submit your answers, that's it. There's no way to retry, even if you close your browser and come back. We track submissions by both user account and browser fingerprint.

Answer validation

All scoring happens on the server. Your browser sends your answers, and we compare them server-side against the correct answers stored in our database. There's no way to inspect or manipulate the correct answers from the client.

What we look for

We monitor for anomalies: impossibly fast completion times, patterns that suggest automated play, and multiple accounts from the same person. We don't publicize our exact detection methods (that would help cheaters), but we do review flagged submissions before awarding prizes.

Our promise

Every winner on Spylled earned their spot through skill and speed. If we ever find that a prize was awarded to a cheater, we'll revoke it and re-award it to the rightful winner. Fair play isn't just a policy — it's the foundation of what makes Spylled worth playing.
